Student must come from a single-parent household.

Find Your Passion Sponsorship - Jr. High & HS Students
Student must come from a single-parent household.
Student must have and maintain a "C" average.
Student must be in Jr. High or High School.
Student will not be required to write an essay or do community service.
Complete the Student application for Sponsorship.
Provide your parents' last two years' tax-returns. These are required to be considered in order to show as a single parent and financial need.
Students can apply as early as 6th grade.

The Contest is open to all college-bound, high school seniors who submit an essay application through a Chapter of the Fraternity.
The essay must be original and neither previously published nor secured by copyright. The essay must be between 700 and 750 words in length. The type-written, double-spaced essay may be submitted via postal service or email in Microsoft Word.

Since 1947,the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 27,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?”

The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.
This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship award from the Ocala Elks Lodge 286 Scholarship Fund, you must:
1. Be a student in the graduating class of a high school or its related equivalent in Marion County, FL.
2. Seniors graduating at semester (December) must apply during the application year before they graduate.
3. Be a resident of the state of Florida.
4. Be a United States citizen.
Students Targeted:
The Ocala Elks Lodge 286 Scholarship is open to students who have maintained an un-weighted GPA of 2.30 to 3.59. Students with an un-weighted GPA above 3.59 cannot apply. We are looking for students who have demonstrated leadership through participation in school activities, community service, and citizenship. Special consideration is given to those students who have shouldered extra responsibility such as working throughout their high school career to help provide support for siblings or family.

A. Be a resident of Marion County.
B. Be enrolled in either a public or private high school in Marion County, Florida, and be classified as a high school senior for the current academic year.
C. Have maintained a grade point average of “B” or better (3.0 or above on a 4-point scale) through your junior and senior year to date.
D. Provide a “sealed official transcript” of your high school classes/grades. The guidance office at your school can provide one of these to you. Do not open the sealed envelope! 2
E. Provide the one page typed autobiographic sketch as outlined below.

G. Be prepared to talk about your essay to a panel of judges. (“Smart Casual” attire is required for all interviews and meetings.)
H. You must be attending an accredited college, university, junior college, or technical school beginning in the summer or fall of 2025.
I. You must provide the scholarship committee with a letter of acceptance for enrollment for the summer term or fall term in 2025, at an accredited college, university, junior college, or technical school. This letter must be provided before the club issues a check as our checks are payable to the school and not to the recipient personally. Once the recipient receives the check, they should take it to the finance office of their school and deposit it into their personal student account.
J. You must agree to allow the Rotary Club to use your photo and or your story in our internal and external marketing and press releases. There will be no compensation for this.

FAMU National Alumni Association Marion County Chapter 2024 Scholarship Application
This scholarship is awarded to a 2025 graduating student who has applied and been accepted to attend Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, Florida, for the 2025-2026 school term. This award is based on academic achievement, school, and community activities, and financial need. Students interested in attending FAMU are encouraged to apply NOW!

The Charles and Kathryn Deering Scholarship provides support to students who attended high school in Lake, Sumter, and Marion County, Florida and will be pursuing a course of education at an accredited college or university in the medical, science & technology, or education fields.

Eligibility:

4. Winners must perform at an Opera Club meeting at the Laurel Manor Recreation Center in The Villages on the evening of Thursday, April 24th, 2025 to claim their awards.

Students submit their art CDs, transcripts and VAA Forms in March. They must be applying for a college major in visual arts. Finalists are notified, and in-person interviews (with actual art pieces) are held in late March for the most qualified candidates. A careful interview and portfolio selection process begins.
In addition to high academic standards, the VAA Scholarship Committee looks to find both talented and well-rounded college bound artists. Community service and activities count.
Our previous VAA winners have attended or are currently in public and private art schools/universities across FL and the Eastern United States. Their majors are in areas such as Architecture, Photography, Graphic Design, Computer Animation, Illustration, Fashion & Stage Design, Art Education….and others.

Ocala Civic Theatre proudly supports the performing arts, technical theatre arts and educational theatre through our service-based scholarship program. Encouraging young talent to pursue their passion for the performing arts is at the forefront of OCT’s mission.
In addition to providing opportunities for students to hone their skills onstage, we offer apprenticeships that give production students opportunities to learn and practice technical skills in a real-world environment. If you are a Marion County resident and a senior planning to attend college or a college student currently enrolled in theatre, music, arts or educational theatre curriculum, you are eligible. The following areas of study are encouraged for potential scholarship applicants:

Write a 500–600-word essay explaining to what extent is education valued in today’s society, and what can the current generation do to restore respect for education as a whole?
Two participants will be chosen as recipients for this scholarship (one male/ one female). Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Remember to review and adhere to the scholarship requirements before submitting.
